This hotel is located in one of the best locations in the capital of Chile, Santiago. The building is emblematic of the country's hospitality industry, as it was one of the first luxury hotels. Our client was remodeling it due to a brand change since it went from being a Grand Hyatt to being a Mandarin Oriental hotel. RMA was hired to design the Presidential Suite and take it to a higher level of sophistication that met the brand's new standards. We sought to give it that last layer of luxury that this incredible hotel deserved, taking advantage of the impressive views of the city of Santiago.

The design concept was born from two variants: on the one hand, we sought to make this room a luxury apartment that would comply with a very sophisticated program and, on the other hand, look for first-class finishes inspired by the geography of Chile. From that point of view we designed a fully equipped open kitchen to be able to host events and meals. This kitchen was central within the public space of the room and organized the space within an axis that distributed the living room into two sectors that took advantage of the views in the best possible way. A movie theater, with a custom-made popcorn machine finished off the space on one side while at the other end an office defined the edge towards the main room. The main room was arranged towards the views, with its own lounge area in front of the bed. The bathroom was designed as a spa experience, with steam showers and whirlpool tubs. The entire room had separate entrances for service and guests that allowed for the room to be serviced without interfering with the guests.
